Events
Naperville CARES hosts two major fundraisers a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. These events provide 37% of our annual revenue:
- Cuisine for a Cause is our spring fundraiser and is an opportunity to sample food from 25 Naperville restaurants and beverages from area wine and beer merchants in a fun-filled atmosphere. The 8th Annual Cuisine for a Cause was held at Tellabs Global Headquarters on Saturday, April 30 and was a tremendous success raising $124,000 for Naperville CARES. Thanks to the generosity of Tellabs, Invesco, My Chef Catering, the City of Naperville and all our other sponsors, 100% if our ticket and auction sales will be used for program expenses. Tellabs has already agreed to host the 9th Annual Cuisine for a Cause which will held on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Please view photos and read more about Cuisine for a Cause.
- Toasting for a Cause our fall fundraiser which is a celebration of food and wine was held on Monday, November 14, 2011, at Sullivan's Steakhouse. Thanks to our Mistress of Ceremonies, Dawn DeSart, a member of the Indian Prairie District 204 School Board, and the generosity of Sullivan's Steakhouse and our guests, $36,000 was raised for the programs of Naperville CARES, far exceeding the goal for the event.
