Naperville CARES has strong ties to the community through a broad range of financial support from numerous organizations. Naperville congregations provide quarterly, semiannual, or annual gifts to support CARES’ work. Many of the churches also provide additional assistance for individual clients when approached by CARES to jointly fill a large need. Civic organizations such as Exchange Club, Jaycees, Kiwanis, Rotary Clubs, and 100+ Women, as well as foundations, have been generous in sharing their fundraising proceeds with CARES. Although CARES receives no state or federal funding, the City of Naperville has provided Social Services grants and Community Development Block Grants, as well as SECA funding, to support our mission. Individuals contribute throughout the year but CARES’ annual events, “Cuisine for a Cause” and “Toasting for a Cause” generate the most interest and income through attendance and sponsorship by local businesses. Naperville CARES is proud that this charitable giving in the Naperville area stays in our community and helps to make it a more stable and safe environment for all of its residents.
